Introduction
Dialog> is the alias of London based producer Andy Smith.
His productions fuse a cinematic, movie soundtrack style with deep-tech and down-tempo electronic beats.

Dialog>'s tracks were first played by Dave Mothersole who featured the tracks on his deep-house show on Kiss FM. His encouragement led to the release of the debut album Music for Imaginary Movies.
The album was named after early feedback from DJ's commenting on the atmospheric style of the music.

The album went into wider circulation and attracted good reviews and plays from other DJ's including Nick Luscombe, Alucidnation, Pathaan, The Plump DJ's, Drumattic Twins, Anthony Pappa, Nico de Ceglia & Jim "shaft" Ryan. Abandoned was featured on the Big Chill's "Readers WAVS" CD.

Dialog> gigs on the London and festival circuit notching up gigs with Echaskech, Jon Hopkins, Daedalus, & Gagarin. He works closely with the Lo-tek label and has gigged with many of their artists: Bombay Monkey, Sound Sanctuary and Minke.

VJ Andy Stone (SoxaN) has provided visuals for many of the gigs and examples of their collaboration may be found on the Live page.

Reviews

CALMSCAPE: Music For Imaginary Movies brings a unique direction to the genre that up-and-comers will attempt to duplicate and avid enthusiasts will chill out with on many a warm breezy after-party night. Production artists in this genre often struggle to innovate, but Dialog has spun out a BT meets Schnauss inspired album with impressive layering and structure, and an attention to detail that separates it from the pack

Music-News.com:...there is a diverse collection of styles on offer here. Most notably the future breaks of 'Abandoned' for me the pick of the eight tracks with a string led breakdown to die for. The remainder of the album rubs shoulders with progressive and deep house genres whilst keeping the uplifting, emotive breakdowns. 'Naultilus' is a killer of a track with it's deep throbbing bassline. 'Angel Trap' shows off Andy's chilled out side and final track 'Glitter' would fit perfectly into an episode of the x-files .....If you're a fan of deep atmospheric house music, this is a must

iDJ magazine: Dialog tug at the heartstrings with ease.......great smoking fodder for those post club or post work moments when you all you need is a big fat smoke and an aural massage.

Jeffrey Disastronaut: Deep house hasn't sounded better than this all year. A standout.

Plump DJ's: Great Music for after hours chillouts etc...nice one.

Mark Anthony (Velvet): very BT meets Rabbit in the Moon. Abandoned would fit perfectly at home on a Sasha & Digweed "Nothern Exposure" CD.....loving it.

Drumattic Twins: wow. If only I was listening to this in Ibiza & not the UK. Great production, I can only as yet imagine how good these tracks sound watching the sun set.

Jim "Shaft" Ryan: excellent tracks

Neil Matthew (resident DJ at Retro Quiz Night, The Pigrim, Billericky, Essex): All a bit moody & arty farty for me.
